John A. Page MD
Dr. John Page, a Board Certified Ophthalmologist since 1971, has practiced general ophthalmology in Macon since 1969. He, Dr. Fleetwood Maddox, and Dr. L.E. Brown established the Eye Center of Central Georgia.
He graduated from Mercer University in 1960 and the Medical College of Georgia in 1963. He completed his Internship in the Air Force at the Wilford Hall Hospital in San Antonio, Texas and the School of Aerospace Medicine at Brooks Air Force Base in San Antonio, Texas. During the Vietnam War, he served as a flight surgeon at McConnell AFB in Kansas, Yokoto AFB in Japan and Takhli AFB in Thailand.
After military service, he completed his residency in ophthalmology at the Medical College of Virginia with special emphasis in anterior segment eye surgery and eye trauma surgery. He served on the teaching staff at Emory in the 70's and early 80's and more recently as a clinical assistant professor in the department of Surgery at Mercer Medical School.
Now, after over 41 years of private practice, he is taking a little more time off but has no plans to retire.
