Malcolm S. Moore Jr MD
Dr. Sid Moore is a Board Certified Ophthalmologist at the Eye Center of Central Georgia. He has been in practice at the Eye Center since 1989, specializing in cataract surgery and comprehensive ophthalmology.
Dr. Moore was a Summa Cum Laude graduate of the University of Mississippi in 1981 where he was awarded the Taylor Medal in Biology and the Culley Memorial Award for the top premedical student at the University of Mississippi. Four years later Dr. Moore graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Mississippi School of Medicine where he served as President of the Student Body and received the Waller S. Leathers Award for the highest academic average in medical school. He completed his Ophthalmology Residency at the University of Mississippi Medical Center in 1989 where he served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Moore is the Legislative Chair of both the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology and the Georgia Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, is Past President of the Georgia Society of Ophthalmology, is Past President of the Georgia Society of Ambulatory Surgery Centers, is Past President of the Bibb County Medical Society, is a member of the Council on Legislation of the Medical Association of Georgia, serves on the Georgia Athletic and Entertainment Committee Medical Advisory Panel, and also holds the title of Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Surgery at Mercer University School of Medicine.
Dr. Sid Moore is a highly experienced cataract surgeon and is a dedicated advocate for his patients achieving the best possible vision. He was one of the first surgeons in the country selected to use the ReSTOR multifocal intraocular lens and has been implanting them since 2005. He also has years of experience correcting astigmatism at the time of cataract surgery with both Toric intraocular lenses and other procedures. His skill, qualifications, commitment, and experience have earned him a unique reputation for excellence and service to his community.
